On September 22nd, the construction site of Hainan Lixing Cobalt Manganese and Polyester Catalyst Green Manufacturing and Acid Base Storage Project (hereinafter referred to as Lixing Catalyst Project) located in Yangpu Petrochemical Functional Park is carrying out board hoisting construction.
After several days of effort, our project has fully resumed work. Today, the comprehensive building was successfully topped out, and the construction progress of the entire project has reached 80%. We plan to start trial production in January next year, "said Lao Changmin, the project leader of Lixing Catalyst. The production equipment is currently being ordered and installation is scheduled to begin in October.
The Lixing catalyst project has a total investment of 274 million yuan and officially started construction on March 8th this year. New production facilities, storage buildings, equipment and facilities, as well as related supporting projects, will be built with an annual output of 10000 tons of PTA catalyst, 2000 tons of polyester catalyst, 1000 tons of hydrochloric acid, 800 tons of acetic acid, and 9000 tons of liquid alkali storage.
It is reported that the project will break through traditional production methods and adopt green processes. This overall technology has 13 authorized invention patents, of which 10 have been authorized, reaching the international leading level.
Cobalt and manganese catalysts are the most commonly used catalysts in polyester synthesis, widely used in chemical industries such as petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. Research has shown that cobalt catalysts can effectively catalyze esterification and polymerization reactions, improving the synthesis rate and productivity of polyester. Manganese catalysts exhibit good catalytic activity and selectivity in polyester synthesis, which can increase the molecular weight and melting point of polyester, improve its thermal stability and mechanical properties.
According to Lao Changmin, this project is a supporting service project of Hainan Yisheng Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Yisheng Petrochemical is a major domestic manufacturer of PTA and polyester. Choosing to start production and build a factory in Yangpu can provide cobalt manganese catalyst products for Hainan Yisheng Petrochemical, solving the problem of the other party purchasing cobalt manganese catalysts from outside the island and achieving the "wall supply" of raw materials.
While providing high-quality and highly active catalysts for Yisheng Petrochemical, this project can also process, recycle, and update the catalysts of Hainan Yisheng, optimize the PTA recovery unit, reduce waste emissions, and minimize the use of chemicals such as liquid alkali. While further promoting environmental optimization and process safety, the Yangpu petrochemical industry chain has been extended.
